Into the fires of battle, unto the anvil of war! - Salamander Army in Progress

So my son is going to field a Warhammer 40k Salamander 1500pt force for an upcoming 40k Tournament at the end of the month.  We've been working on his force and aside from two Tactical Squads previously finished, here are some more recent additions.  Upcoming will be a Land Raider, 2 Assault Squads and a Chaplain... stay tuned for pictures coming up.  I will also be fielding an Imperial Guard Army and one of the Desert-themed units are pictured here as well (the scheme was inspired from the Cordra Hydratus Jaroon forces).  All units Games Workshop, Priming by Army Painter, Paints by Games Workshop and Valejo.

Imperial Guard (Desert), Necrons and Salamander Terminators

So it's been a while for an update here - but it isn't due to lack of activity.  Pictured here is an addition to my slowly growing Desert-themed Imperial Guard army, the start of a new necron army and another start to my son's Salamander Space Marine army.  Enjoy.  All mini's game's workshop, paints by Vallejo.  the Imperial Guardsmen Heavy Weapons unit has a scratch built base along with sand bags made by Tamiya WW2 line.  Weathering on the minis was my first use of the Tamiya pastel weathering products.

Blast from the Past: Chaos Spawn Champion

In an effort to keep frequent posts here at Orb of Deception, I'll be pulling painted mini pics from my vaults.

I painted this mod back in 95 or 96 I think.  It is a combination of several Games Workshop miniatures:  The hand was from a familiar pack, the lower portion from a Tzeentch flamer, the upper torso from a chaos marine and the sword arm is from a plague bearer.  Enjoy!

Looks like I just need to make a custom base for it now...
